"Jane Peterson was a woman of spirit and panache, a great traveler and bold watercolor painter, perfectly represented in this image of tourists meeting the ferry on Martha’s Vineyard. I especially like the red (sunburned?) figure in the bathing suit at the left, and the surprising lavender and lemon colors of the ladies on the dock, which makes such a witty design for the turning surface of the mug. "
