This one-of-a-kind, hand-made wall hanging celebrates the long and rich history of Phulkari (literally, "flower work") embroidery. While the origins of Phulkari remain unclear, it it believed to have most likely started sometime in the 15th century in the Punjab region of Southeast Asia, and it is often linked to the Gulkari embroidery of Iran.
This particular wall hanging features a brightly colored geometric pattern over a cotton base, done entirely with silk thread embroidery, and an iridescent gold trim.
