Description
Salvador Dalí (1904-89) was one of the most controversial and paradoxical artists of the twentieth century. He was initially influenced by Impressionism and Cubism, but subsequently became involved with the Surrealists, the most revolutionary artists of the time. They regarded his paintings as revealing the normally hidden world of the unconscious. Dalí did not confine himself to painting, he designed sets for a play by Federico Garcia Lorca, made a films with Luis Bunuel and Alfred Hitchcock, and collaborated with Walt Disney on one of the most beautiful cartoons ever made, Destino. Plus, he created a Tarot deck. He was just plain fun!
