Based on tiles from our collection by William Frend de Morgan (English, 1839 - 1907), each of these handmade coasters were made in Philadelphia by The Painted Lily, for the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Made using a natural, tumbled marble tile and a unique transfer process that allows the natural color and character of the stone to show through the image. The image is applied to the tile in a way that marries the two, melting the image into the tile.
Each coaster measures 4 x 4 inches square, and has been fully backed in cork to protect your table surfaces. The durable tile surface will ensure you enjoy many a beverage, always with a safe place to put them.
