FRESH FOCUS: Camden Through Young Eyes   

In 2018, Fresh Artists designed and implemented a city-wide program of introductory digital photography classes to enable children from Camden, New Jersey, to capture the spirit and warmth of their community. It was supported by a national campaign to solicit donations of gently used smartphones, as “cameras,” combined with a four-month instructional program in the Camden schools’ art classes and after-school programs on the magic of basic photography and creative editing techniques.   

Based in Philadelphia, Fresh Artists is an award-winning nonprofit that empowers K-12 children through their art and philanthropy. The children are empowered as philanthropists and change-makers raising funds to deliver art materials and innovative art programs to other children in under-funded public schools throughout America.
