Description
The La Danaide Reclining Female Nude statue by Auguste Rodin is of the mythological figure Danaide, one of the daughters of King Danaos. The Danaid Statue was executed in 1885, during a period when Rodin was exploring the female nude in recumbent postures. It is another work which was originally conceived to be part of the sculptural commission for the Doors of the Musee des Beaux-Arts.
