Description

Celebrate an iconic moment in film history with a sculpture of Philadelphia's most legendary hero. Featuring sleek cast resin and all-around detail, this 12-inch reproduction captures his triumphant run to the top of the Museum's steps.

In 1980, Sylvester Stallone commissioned A. Thomas Schomberg to create the Statue of ROCKY™ for the movie "ROCKY III". Today, this iconic statue resides at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, adjacent to the famous ROCKY steps, for visitors from around the globe to enjoy.

A Thomas Schomberg’s sculpture career has spanned the last five decades in which he has described, with his realistic intensity, the time and environment in which he lives and the society that we are all captives of.

Schomberg grew up in America’s mid-west, Iowa during the late 1940’s and 50’s.  After completing his formal public education, he taught for a short time in Omaha, NE.  Then, upon completing MA and MFA degrees, as well as studying in Europe, Schomberg moved to the east coast and taught a short time in a progressive community college. Although he received tenure, he decided to relocate to Colorado in 1975 and established Schomberg Studios with his wife, Cynthia, who is also his agent.

His daughter Robin manages the ROCKY™ Statue reproduction line for Schomberg Studios.
