Description
While it is easy to lose time when reading a good page turner, you won't loose your place with this bookmark detailing the face of a tall case clock in the museum's Early American Art collection. German-born watch- and clockmaker Frederick Dominick worked in Philadelphia in the 1760s and 1770s. This is an early example of the new fashion for dials with enamel-painted decoration, which would soon replace dials made of silvered brass.
