Description
Upon opening this card, you or whoever you send this card to, will be transported to van Gogh painting Sunflowers in the Yellow House in Arles in 1888 and 1889. Van Gogh’s paintings of Sunflowers are among his most famous. Vincent painted a total of five large canvases with sunflowers in a vase, with three shades of yellow ‘and nothing else’. He hung the first two in the room of his friend, the painter Paul Gauguin, who came to live with him for a while in the Yellow House. Gauguin was impressed by the sunflowers, which he thought were ‘completely Vincent’.
The charm of this card will unfold as you or whoever you send the card to opens it and the layers come to life, just like the pop up books of our childhood. This is sure to be a keepsake of memories of visiting the museum to see Sunflowers in the museum's galleries!
