Keep your place marked with this angel bookmark. This detail from a chest of drawers in the museum's Pennsylvania German Furniture collection is found in our Early American Art Galleries. Furniture painted with this decoration is known as “Schwaben Creek” in reference to the area where it was made. The Schwaben Creek runs along the border of Schuylkill and Northumberland Counties, Pennsylvania, north of Harrisburg.
