Description
Paula Focazio is a Bucks County artist best known for her colorful ceramics and henna artwork. When she was quite young her parents bought her a toy potter’s wheel which fascinted her. In her youth she would often accompany her mother to a local hobby ceramics studio to paint the pre-made wares there. During her high school year's she learned how to use a real potter’s wheel and has been in love with clay ever since.
Paula has worked with Peace Valley Tile in New Britain, Pennsylvania, learning the art of handmade tiles as well as custom glaze mixing. There she created the Rutherford Memorial sidewalk mosaic in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She has also studied with porcelain artist, Wayne Bates, whose influence can still be seen in her work today. Since 2010 she has been combining her two favorite mediums into what she calls “hennapottery”.
