Description

In 1893 Monet enlarged his gardens at Giverny by purchasing this land with a small stream and pond.  He designed the landscape himself based on Japanese prints he collected. Having created his garden, Monet went on to paint 12 paintings of his beloved bridge.  This version was painted in 1899.
