Local artist James Boyle was originally commissioned to illustrate a story about tarot cards for a magazine but his designs were such a huge hit, that people started asking where they could buy them. A Kickstarter campaign raised the funds for him to produce this entire, glorious set. Beautifully packaged and printed with shining gold edges and a matte UV finish, these cards make a wonderful gift or keepsake. We’ve heard of a few fans framing them as well.
This new edition includes cards featuring notable Philadelphians Edmund Bacon, Margaret Meade, Joe Frazer, Crystal Bird Faucett, Albert Barnes, and Johannes Kelpius.
Some of our favorite cards include – Grace Kelly as “The Star,” Kurt Vile as “The Magician,” Edgar Allan Poe as “Death,” the cast of It’s Always Sunny as “The World,” and Gritty as “The Devil.” Cheesesteaks and history abound.
