This dress was inspired by the bold and rigorous abstract works of artist Alice Trumbull Mason, who is featured in our exhibition BOOM; Art & Design of the 1940's. There’s nothing better than a classic block printed stripe in this elegant toffee/black colorway of lux silk. This beautiful piece is all about the details, down to the gathered sleeves and contrasting collar stripe. It’s an easy, feminine cut that’s designed to travel seamlessly between daytime errands, to dinners, to special occasions and events. Airy but not billowy. Sisters Hopie and Lily Stockman have perfected this all-flattering, limited run silhouette in their textile and design studio based in Los Angeles. A multi-generational team of artists and craftspeople, they are devoted to celebrating the rich history, techniques, and materials of handmade block print textiles.
