Description
As the story goes, in the 1950s Charles and Ray Eames pulled a piece of folk art - a simplistic black bird - from their own living room and styled it into a photograph with a group of Eames DKR chairs. The Eames' House Bird rose to fame and the rest is history. This iconic black bird (circa 1910) with tapered beak and sleek tail was one of their most prized objects of folk art. In cooperation with the Eames family, design powerhouse Vitra used 3-D scans of the original to create the solid alder wood reproduction.
