These exquisite handmade slipware mushrooms are truly special and sure to delight! No two are alike. Each ornament is stamped by maker Morgan Levine on the underside.
Morgan makes functional pottery using tinted stoneware slips. The results reference 17th-century Staffordshire slipware, Turkish Ebru patterns, Venetian marbled papers, and French agateware, but she has tinkered with the palette to create something new. Firing each piece with a buttery satin glaze, she permanently preserves both her gesture and the slip’s fleeting fluidity. Morgan loves the contrast between the colors’ crisp definition and the patterns’ psychedelic softness. Each piece is a unique record of a specific moment in time. No two pieces are alike, but they relate to each other through shared palettes, patterns, and line quality.
