This color stencil created by artist Jean Hugo is part of a much larger collection of works that started with gifts of Carl Zigrosser, the museum curator of Prints and Drawings from 1940 to 1963, with ongoing gifts in his name up to the present.
Hugo is predominantly known for his sketches and oil or gouache paintings executed in small formats. He also illustrated books, designed theatre sets and costumes and produced ceramics, murals, textile designs and stained glass windows.
