Description
Designer Andrea Geer's compelling prints are fashioned from her original paintings and drawings: with the help of assistants, the artist digitally manipulates her abstract designs onto crisp fabrics, which she then tailors into pieces with bold, architectural shape. Her knit pieces are constructed on a Stoll knitting machine using the jacquard technique. The fiber is Egyptian cotton.
Andrea Geer strives to creates home textiles with a bold presence. With an eye toward experimentation, she calls on multiple artistic disciplines to develop her inventive designs. Geer has an MFA in painting from Rochester Institute of Technology. Her passion to create has taken various forms, from painting to fashion, but her sensibility for eye-catching, graphic forms is a consistent element.
