These charming mugs begin as digital designs based on actual homes in Philadelphia. A die-cutting machine is used to cut out the designs which are then applied to pots to resist glaze application. A wonderful, truly Philly, gift!
Courtney Pistilli, the ceramicist behind Sidewalk Ceramics has have long been inspired by the unique architecture and composition of cities. She currently works out of her home studio in Philadelphia and draws much of her inspiration from the city where she lives. She grew up visiting her father’s print shop and now employs many printmaking techniques in the production of her handmade pottery. She enjoys hand building and wheel-throwing alike, finding the rhythms and demands of each practice to be equally engaging and challenging.
